Shieldaig Pontoon

In 2013 Shieldaig Community installed a new floating pontoon for visiting yachts and local users. Fresh water is available at the top of the pontoon. The pontoon is suitable for short stay only and is not suitable for mooring/overnight. 

The community raised a considerable sum of money and was supported by donations from LEADER, Highland Council, Crown Estate and Highlands and Islands Enterprise.

In order for us to be able to maintain the pontoon properly, and to help with funding other projects to enhance the village amenities, we ask users to make a small donation. We suggest that £10 is a suitable amount.

This can be done either by :

• placing cash or a cheque in the post box at the end of the pontoon
